Macquarie Tower February Construction Update

The team have just completed pouring level 2!
We’re really happy to report there has been a tonne of progress since our last update, with the site team having now completed five structural levels. That’s approximately 1,300 cubic metres of concrete between on-site concrete pours and precast panels. The latest pour of level two consisted of two days and 320m3 of concrete, thanks to our vertically integrated company Hunter Readymixed Concrete.

In the past weeks, the site team has been preparing the formwork for Level 3 and the primary external driveway ramp; that provides the main access into the building. Our preferred partners are currently installing conduits for the in-slab works consisting of lighting, power, access control and mechanical.

Hear from Project James Thomson and GWH/RE Licensee in Charge Peter Kunov for an update on all the progress.

Once the largest pour on Level 3 is complete, the levels will revert to a smaller area which will allow the team to complete them in a single pour. At this point, they can make greater use of the precast columns and wall systems supplied by our integrated partners Hunter Precast, which will keep the team moving ahead through our structural works.

WHAT'S HAPPENING ONSITE IN FEBRUARY:

  • Service rough-ins to begin in basement levels
  • Team preparing for level 3 transfer slab pour
  • Crane tie-ins being installed for the crane to jump to its final height
  • Hoist install in the coming weeks
