SOD Turn Success at ONE

On the 14th May 2023, our team celebrated the turning of soil at our ONE Apartments site!

With the early works program complete, Company directors, team and City of Newcastle Councilor Peta Winney-Baartz, commemorated the commencement of the structural build at ONE Apartments. Being our latest high-rise residential development following the completion of SKY residences, ONE will set a new benchmark for luxury apartment living. Committed to the ongoing growth and enhancement of Newcastle, GWH will continue their 100% completion rate to deliver the North and South towers of ONE Apartments.

With the rising cost of construction around the country resulting in project delays, the team at GWH have been able to progress thanks to their unique set of integrated capabilities. Our long and established integrated partnerships with The Hunter Construction Group have not only ensured our quality of the developments, but it’s also allowed for the mitigation of ongoing instability of material and building costs, in the current market.

GWHs Managing Director Jonathan Craig said “Because of our long standing partnerships, we’ve been able to mitigate rising costs to ensure this development stays on track and does not compromise the quality of what we’ll deliver. We can do this because we manufacture the bulk of our materials locally, through the companies we own. Readymixed Concrete, precast panels, windows & doors and structural steel all form part of our group of companies.”  

Commencement of works at the National Park Street site began in late 2022 and has recently completed the initial ground works program, which included demolition of the existing site, mines grouting and a major sewer relocation along King St with Hunter Water. ONE promises to be a stunning addition to the city's skyline with its two towers and a noteworthy architectural landmark, embodying contemporary design and upscale living.
