The 25th of August 2022 saw GWH officially turn ground on Lake Macquarie’s next iconic mixed-use building, Macquarie Tower.
Standing 15 floors high upon completion, Macquarie Tower will feature a mix of four floors of premium commercial space and 53 residential apartments, all of which are located on the eighth floor or above unlocking expansive views from every apartment within the development.
This extra elevation provides apartments with both south-easterly and southerly aspects with remarkable views extending over the Pacific Ocean from the comfort of their living room, whilst apartments with a western aspect will be treated to incredible sunsets over the Watagan Ranges of an evening.
“We’re incredibly excited to deliver Macquarie Tower to the Lake Macquarie region,” said GWH Managing Director Jonathan Craig.
“We believe we have an opportunity to deliver an incredible lifestyle destination that truly accentuates the expansive views on offer from each apartment.”
“With over 640 homes delivered for residents within the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region over the last five years, we’re really excited to deliver this spectacular new project and build on the success achieved at Highpoint next door,” added Mr Craig.
Located right next door to previous GWH development Highpoint Apartments, GWH will be utilising much of the same construction team to deliver this project as was used two years ago to deliver the Highpoint project, an important factor in the eyes of GWH Construction Manager Paul Ward.
“It’s great to have the continuity of the team responsible for Highpoint transitioning onto the delivery of this project. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to begin work on what will be the region’s most uplifting destination,” commented Mr Ward.
Featuring an exclusive access point separate from the residential component of the building, Macquarie Tower’s central location within touching distance of some of the region’s best amenities is proving a major drawcard for commercial tenants according to leasing agent and Associate Director – Investment Services (Colliers), Luke Rutledge.
“This state-of-the-art mixed-use development will provide much needed A-Grade commercial amenity to the medical, commercial and NDIS powerhouse of Lake Macquarie, Charlestown,” added Mr Rutledge.
“We are fielding strong enquiry from medical groups looking to align themselves in close proximity to existing medical services, as well as professional service and government businesses.”
In addition to benefiting from the development’s close proximity to major amenities, residents at Macquarie Tower will be treated to an exclusive communal Oceanview Rooftop Garden. Fully equipped with internal kitchen and dining facilities, this rooftop facility provides the ultimate place to take in the spectacular sunrises and sunsets afforded by the development’s location.
“One of the unique things about Macquarie Tower is that the residential component of the building is located between levels eight and fifteen, meaning every apartment has access to incredible views, no matter the aspect”, added Licensee in Charge – GWH/RE, Peter Kunov.
“Apartments with an Easterly or South-easterly aspect are treated to views from Stockton Beach all the way through to Caves Beach, whilst those with a Westerly aspect can take in the amazing sunsets over the Watagan Ranges from the comfort of their living rooms.”
